It bears repeating that in this heat precautions must be taken to keep the animals comfortable. Being uncomfortable brings stress which can undo all of the hard work done over many months. The simple act of putting an extra fan on the boer goats will make them more at ease with the temperatures that are occurring right now .  People in Pennsylvania are not used to these extremes let alone goats and other animals. Boer Goats will lay out in the sun if you do not entice them to come into the shade. Today I gave them extra hay, grain and water and introduced a larger fan to the breeding show animals. The larger animals have a tendencie to labor with his breathing. Hopefully all the efforts will pay off until we return to our normal temperatures.
