I promised some other Fair attractions as the season gets underway. Last week we attended the Fair in Bedford Pennsylvania. One of the traditional stops is always the Tractor displays. I guess if you are not involved in farming culture you may not get that, but the fact is that so much time is spent on farm machinery and there is just that bond made between a farmer and his tractor. The fascination is shared equally between the old refurbished machines and the newest monster tractors. Of course there is always that rivalry about the best color/brand of tractor….Make mine International Harvester…I think that green kind is a John Deere.
The county fair in Bedford Pennsylvania has a nice tractor display and although my main reason is to see the Boer Goats and watch the 4H Goat show, It is nice to walk around and view the other traditional displays. As the goat industry is growing with the evolution of the Boer breed, the agricultural traditions are in danger of dying out.
And a trip to the county fair is nothing if you do not at least stop to watch and listnen to the music and rides and smell the food.
There is truly nothing like it!
